Happy 55th Birthday!!!! Jersey's finest
Glenn Danzig's new studio album, Deth Red Sabaoth, is currently streaming on CBS Radio's "The Street Date", which also features an in-depth video interview with Glenn.
The 11-track collection, produced, recorded and penned by Danzig, is laced with Glenn's lycanthropic growls and blues-infected wailing. Tracks including "Black Candy," "The Revengeful," and the first single, "On A Wicked Night," emit a spectral glow to rival the highest points in Danzig's colossal discography. Part 1 of the exquisite two-part "Pyre of Souls" opens with acoustic guitar, haunting piano, Glenn's plainsong vocal, and an almost dirge-like feel; Part II explodes with electric guitars and a driving, mesmerizing cadence.
Joining Glenn in the studio for the recording of Deth Red Sabaoth were guitarist Tommy Victor (Prong, Ministry), a Danzig cohort on and off since 1997, and drummer Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Seventh Void). While Kelly has toured with Glenn intermittently since 2002, this is the first time he has recorded with the band. Glenn handled the bass chores for most of the album, and played drums on "Black Candy."

Club 81 Too: Fried fare, served with heaping side of family
Hegewisch is a real place, and it's not in Harry Potter-land. But mention it to Chicagoans and 75 percent of them will give you that tilted-head, pursed-lipped look of Huh? Where? It is, in fact, a neighborhood of Chicago, as south and east as the city goes. It's possible to play Twister with left hand on Chicago, left foot on Burnham, Ill., and right foot on Hammond, Ind.

Today's Lunch
Famous for its huge sandwiches piled high with meat( Pastrami & Capiola), cheese, tomatoes, coleslaw, and fries (yes, in the sandwich), it would take two humans mouths to fit the whole sandwich in a bite, but not this man. They have a challenge to eat three Lucky sandwiches, your choice of meat, with all toppings in only one hour. The world record is just under 5 mins.

The New World's Biggest Burger Competition:
Ambrosia On The Spot in Randwick, a suburb of Sydney, has made a 95.5-kilogram (about 210.5 pounds) burger to beat the current Guinness World Record holder for "largest hamburger commercially available", the 84-kilogram burger from Mallie's Sports Grill & Bar in Southgate, Michigan. The burger will be on the menu for the next year for AUD $1,500 ($1,220). Aside from the ginormous beef patty, the burger is made of 120 eggs, 150 slices of cheese, 1.5 kilograms of beets, 2.5 kilograms of tomatoes, and almost 2 kilograms of lettuce, topped with a special sauce on a sesame seed bun.

Chrissy Pronger
This is disrespectful to figure skaters, who are not sissies, but incredible athletes in their own right.
"I don't read what you guys write. Good or bad," Pronger said.
When it was pointed out that the newspaper had an interesting picture of him, Pronger still wouldn't take the bait.
"Next question," he responded.
The reporter continued "in a figure skating dress," and Pronger replied: "Next question." When the reporter said "and I was just wondering," Pronger again said: "Next question.""I really couldn't care, to be honest with you," Pronger said. "I'm worried about playing the game."

There’s a 75% or better chance Kuma’s will have a 2nd location by this time next year.
The big question for Kuma’s Corner, home of our city’s most lauded (and loudest) burgers, has been when — not if — they’ll expand beyond their Avondale location. Waiting two hours for their pretzel-rolled monstrosities calls for such queries. Well, it’s coming, and owner Mike Cain said there’s a 75 percent or better chance Kuma’s will have a second location by this time next year. Only it might not necessarily be another burger joint.“I just think we can use more BBQ in the city,” Cain told The Stew Friday. “I’m also looking at Southern foods. Fried chicken, collard greens, sweet potato pies.”Cain, a ribs aficionado, said no location has been set yet, though he’s got his eyes on a few spots. Cain also spoke of expanding Kuma’s burgers to other cities, such as Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and other “working man cities,” as he called them. For now, Cain is focused on Kuma’s 5th anniversary party on July 10, in which he’ll shut down Francisco Avenue, where 10 metal bands will have the stage. It’s free to the public.
Smoque BBQ is at U.S. Cellular Field
These baby backs from Smoque won't be available at U.S. Cellular Field, but its brisket and pulled pork will.Posted by Kevin PangThe White Sox might not be having the most spectacular season (and neither are their North Side brethren), but there's a new reason to visit U.S. Cellular Field this summer. Smoque, the BBQ joint that has reached an echelon of must-visits among 'Cue aficianados, will be operating a stall at the stadium starting this Tuesday, June 1. Bad news: most ticker-holders won't be able to sample Barry Sorkin's brisket and pulled pork sandwiches at the stadium, because the stand will be in section 318 on the LG Skyline Club Level in right field. So unless you're holding Skybox or premium tickets, you're out of luck, but you can still visit the restaurant's main Old Irving Park location. "It's incredibly exciting for us," Sorkin told The Stew Thursday afternoon. "Hopefully a North Side restaurant on the South Side won't anger people. At the end of the day, we're all Chicagoans."For now, the Cell will only offer a greatest hits of Smoque's BBQ: the 14-hour smoked brisket (ask for end pieces), pulled pork shoulder, barbecue beans and his tangy coleslaw. Sweet tea and Blue Moon wheat beer will also be offered. The food will be made at the restaurant's kitchen and transported to the stadium daily."We're slicing the brisket and pulling the pork on site, so the product doesn't suffer at all." Sorkin said Levy Restaurants approached him about the opportunity of a partnership several months ago.
