Review-Mr. D. Koda's Restaurant

In high school, the man who inspired me to be a blog artist, entrepeneur, and insurance executive was Mr. Dwayne Koda, lit teacher extraordinnaire. He was fired shortly before I graduated. We even had a sit-in to protest this travesty. Donna Martin graduates! Thankfully, he found a new line of work. He became a semi-famous south side chef and opened up the locally renowned restaurant, Koda (not really).

For starters, Kim Butney's mom was our waitress. And a great waitress she was. By the way, seated next to us was a younger, slimmer version of Scott's Uncle Deacon--and father. It was like Paranoia. First, the waitress hooked us up with average starters, like Crispy Pork Belly (jokes to yourself) and Polenta Fries (better). Corn Chowder with Crayfish and Spring Green Tomato Salad followed-better than the first course. Main Course bordered on delicious- Scallops, Braised Short Ribs, Skate Fish, and Hanger Steak complete with fries. Yes. There were some standout desserts-like strawberry cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake.

Hats off, Mr. Koda. Glad to see that your pre-retirement career is paying off so well!

Sincerely,

The Ghostwriter
